Timeless Landscape Design. Shaped Around You.
We believe landscapes should be about understanding the people who live in them, the felt sense and history of a place. We combine elegant flowing lines and sculptural forms, with spaces that are alive and teeming with plants and wildlife. We believe landscape design should hold a sense of the clients we work with, and be true to the places we work in.

Landscape Design
Landscapes are Places Held in Time.
Landscapes should change and evolve, as people change, throughout the seasons, and over the years, providing evolving interest. A place where you can relax, and breathe. A place to be and share with others.
As designers our goal is to understand and interpret our intuitive sense; which is a coming together of the people and the place, understanding the old, imagining the new.

Intuitive Landscape Design. Understanding People. Creating Unique Spaces.
Doug Holloway is a Chartered Landscape Architect and Registered member of the Society of Garden Designers. He began his career by personally building the landscapes that he designed. This honed his awareness of working with materials and plants, and gave him a clear understanding of creating landscapes, from design through all stages. That concentrated time in the physical landscape, understanding a felt sense of the place, and working alongside his clients for 20 years, created a career long interest, in how we relate to the physical landscape, how our psychology is affected by being in a landscape, and how a designer can imagine and create a felt sense of a place.
“Over the years I was rewarded to realise that a successful landscape design transforms a place and has a tremendously positive impact on the lives of the people. I believe landscapes talk to the deeper parts of us all, not only a primal desire to connect with nature, but they offer an opportunity to create places that feel unique and personal to each person I work with.” – Doug Holloway

Imaginative Ideas. Beautiful Detailing. Client Satisfaction.
We are a small team of landscape architects who are passionate about design. Doug works personally with clients, drawing each and every design himself. He collaborates with his colleagues utilising their expert knowledge in specific areas. He works closely on the ground with landscapers, specialists and suppliers to create beautiful landscapes that will last over time, gaining positive sense of place, enhancing texture of materials, and by advising as the years pass, he helps to create beautiful developed forms to the plants and living elements on a site.
Planting is a Creative Process.
We personally source and supply all plants and trees for most projects. Doug will personally position all the plants and trees, because he has found there is a continuing creative process, from bespoke planting plans -where every plant is drawn and detailed- to new creative ideas while placing the plants himself. We involve and work with our clients at all stages, so the process is both professional, practical, and positive for all involved. We hope this positivity of attitude and passion to create amazing places, is a key and indescribable part of what we offer.

The concept for a formal garden has worked well. The planting matured beautifully and many people compliment the garden. We have a different lifestyle now that the outside space feels so welcoming. The kitchen doors are open onto the patio as much as possible. It continues to give us a great deal of pleasure.

We Welcome Working in Unusual Spaces
As Landscape Designers, we are experienced at working with complex sites that are previously underdeveloped due to complexities within the site. We thrive on working in these spaces, because we believe landscape design can create beautiful gardens while also weaving a complex web of solutions within a space. It is precisely this delicate interplay of hard and soft, light and dark, and working to create three dimensional spaces, while creating spaces with renewed and transformed identity that fuels our passion. We have created gardens for flood prevention, we have worked on sites with complex levels, we have created landscapes next to lakes that require complex drainage, we often work on sites that are unusual asymmetric shapes. There is a complex interplay, of the felt sense of place and visual images we create when we produce a design, balanced with solving problems on the site. Successfully creating a design that feels right for the space and right to the client, while also delicately and professionally dealing with any issues the site presents is the joy for Doug Holloway in being a Landscape Architect. We look forward to seeing your project.
